
Get ready to move your body to the beat, because outdoor music festivals have returned to the nation. This will be the first time in three years that people can enjoy these events without mask restrictions.
A number of festivals featuring different music genres will take place from May through August. Here are three events that you might want to check out.
Seoul Park Music FestivalThis festival will be held on June 24 and 25 at Olympic Park in Seoul. The event highlights the nation’s indie music scene, and numerous singers and bands are scheduled to perform on the outdoor stage. The indie acts include Crush, 10cm, Sunwoojunga, and Lucy.
The festival will take place at a grassy park, allowing festivalgoers to have a picnic while listening to the music. There will also be food stalls and food trucks selling various meals and snacks.
Seoul Jazz FestivalThis event is one of the biggest festivals for jazz music in Korea. Celebrating its 15th anniversary, this year’s festival will run from May 26 to 28 at Olympic Park. World-renowned jazz musicians will join local jazz artists and pop music artists for the three-day event.
Brazilian bossa nova* musician Sergio Mendes and American jazz vocalist Gregory Porter are two of this year’s main attractions. Also, local musician Ko Sang-ji will perform on the bandoneon, an instrument similar to the accordion.
Incheon Pentaport Rock FestivalThis event in the port city of Incheon is the nation’s biggest rock festival. It is also recognized by the government as one of Korea’s 100 top events for tourism. An impressive lineup of domestic and international rock acts is expected to shake the outdoor stage.
The festival will last from August 4 to 6 at the Songdo Moonlight Festival Park. There will also be a special zone for camping for those who wish to spend the night at the park.
