Comic Con is a fan convention that celebrates content related to comic books and animation. One of the biggest recently took place in New York City, attracting thousands of enthusiasts of superhero, sci-fi, and fantasy genres.
New York Comic Con (NYCC) was held at a convention center in Manhattan from October 9th to 12th. Numerous fans took part in cosplay by dressing up as their favorite character and posing for photos.
A highlight of the cosplay scene was the official Spider-Verse meetup, in which over 150 people showed up as different versions of Spider-Man and gathered for a huge photo op.
At this year’s NYCC, visitors attended panels with famous actors and creators and were treated to sneak peeks of upcoming shows and movies. Marvel Studios was especially a big presence, making major announcements about several TV shows set to premiere in 2026.
In addition, Naver Webtoon made a big splash at this year’s pop-culture event. The Korean company, which participated for the first time last year, set up a massive booth that was packed with large crowds.
There, the company promoted its popular webtoons, such as “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,”* to North American readers. Moreover, the booth drew in people with fun activities, including capsule toy machines filled with webtoon merchandise.
The convention was also an opportunity to purchase limited-edition goods and rare comic book art. Meanwhile, stars of hit films like “X-Men” and “K-pop Demon Hunters,” as well as other celebrities, signed autographs and posed for photos with fans.
NYCC was launched in 2006, and this year, it enjoyed its biggest turnout ever, according to the organizers. In total, over 250,000 people bought tickets to attend the four-day event.
