
“K-Pop Demon Hunters” was one of the most popular animated movies in 2025. This year it has received a lot of attention at international awards ceremonies.
At the Grammy Awards in January, the movie won Best Song Written for Visual Media* for the hit song, “Golden.” It became the first K-pop song to take home a trophy at the prestigious event.
In February, the movie was recognized at the Golden Globes, where it was named Best Animated Feature.* Then, in March, it was honored in two categories at the Academy Awards: Best Animated Feature and Best Original Song* for “Golden.”
“K-Pop Demon Hunters” tells the story of a K-pop girl group named HUNTR/X, who secretly fights demons while performing as pop stars. The movie became a massive hit on Netflix, reaching over 500 million views worldwide. The songs from its soundtrack were streamed billions of times globally.
At the Academy Awards, the real-life singers behind HUNTR/X also gave an impressive live performance of “Golden.” They were accompanied by dancers in hanbok and a pansori duo.
Fans around the world congratulated the makers of the movie for their incredible success. Even Korean President Lee Jae-myung praised the film.
“It has transcended borders and language to connect the hearts of people worldwide,” he said.
