
The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to kick off on June 11th. For the first time in history, the iconic tournament will be held in three countries: Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Sixteen cities spread across these nations will host matches, with the opening game being held at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The opening ceremony will take place across all three host nations on different dates. The championship match is set to be held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, the U.S., on July 19th.
The tournament is also a historic feat for Mexico. Soon, the nation will become the first to have three World Cup tournaments take place on its soil. Previously, Mexico hosted the World Cup in 1970 and 1986.
This year, the number of teams competing has also increased. Forty-eight teams will battle for a chance to win the title across 104 matches. In 2022, only 32 teams competed in 64 matches.
Team Korea will face off against the Czech Republic on June 11th in Guadalajara, Mexico. Then, the team will seek to defeat Mexico on June 18th. Eager fans will travel from all over the world to witness these exciting matches.
