Total Solar Eclipse
A total solar eclipse happens when the Moon moves in front of the Sun. The Moon blocks all of the sunlight, and it becomes very dark outside.During a total solar eclipse, the sky looks like night. You can even see stars during the day. The Sun’s outer ring, called the corona,* also becomes visible.
A total solar eclipse is rare. It happens in only a few parts of Earth. So people travel far to watch one.
In 2035, a total solar eclipse will be visible from parts of Korea. It will be a very special moment for people across the country.
